Dove
Dove earns her name from the shimmering glow of her armor. She is a brave defender of peace.
Her armor is inspired from the delicate lace pattern of lace bugs (Tingidae.) I love the delicate architecture of these insects, and how the holes in their wings have an iridescent shimmer. I had a lot of fun studying these creatures and designing Dove’s armor around such interesting and sculptural anatomy.
Dove’s armor has been 3D printed and painted with iridescent acrylic paint and is also adorned with Swarovski crystals. Her face, hands and feet are sculpted in polymer clay and are painted with acrylic paint. Her hair is made of wool locks and is adorned with a crown, also decorated with Swarovski crystals. She carries two swords that have been painted to match her armor. Under her armor, she is dressed in silk, leather, and an organza skirt that is adorned with glass beads.
